Ballymena Business Centre, in partnership with The Gallaher Trust and with the support of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and Invest NI, hosted a dynamic business clinic for the creative sector this week in Midtown Makers Gift Shop. The event drew a strong turnout from local artists, makers, and innovators eager to explore the range of support available to help start, grow and sustain their creative business.

The clinic highlighted pathways for creatives to access trading opportunities, mentoring, and tailored business advice, while also offering a valuable networking platform.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Jackson Minford said:

“Being part of this dynamic business clinic is a powerful reminder of the creative sector’s potential to drive innovation and economic growth. Council is proud to support local talent and help turn bold ideas into thriving enterprises.”

Melanie Christie Boyle MBE, Chief Executive of Ballymena Business Centre, said:

“Our creative community is a vital part of the local economy, bringing innovation, talent and vibrancy to Ballymena. We are delighted to provide a space where creatives can connect with support organisations and take confident steps in their business journey.”

Des Gartland, North East Regional Manager at Invest NI, said:

“Our North-Eastern regional team is committed to working in partnership with stakeholders such as Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and Ballymena Business Centre to drive local economic growth. We’re working closely with our partners to support local businesses, whether you’re looking for guidance on creating a business plan, need help identifying new markets outside Northern Ireland, or want to reach new customers through digitalisation.”

The success of the event reflects a growing momentum in championing the creative industries in Ballymena, ensuring that local talent is not only recognised but fully supported to thrive.
